Falcons Battle MSOE on Senior Night

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin wrestling team met the MSOE Raiders in a home dual meet on Thursday, which also represented the program's senior night. Five Falcons found wins in the event, which ultimately finished with the Raiders claiming a victory by a 28-18 score.

The night began with a series of exhibition matches, which saw freshman Nathan Krause (Grafton, Wis.) tally a fall in just 90 seconds on the mat.

Junior Devin Gore (Plymouth, Wis.) kicked off the dual, getting the Falcons on the scoreboard early with a dominating performance at 125 pounds. After amassing five takedowns, Gore notched a 20-3 technical fall to open the contest with a 6-0 lead in Concordia's favor.

The Raiders clawed their way ahead on the scoreboard, taking the next three matches by way of two falls and a major decision.

Senior Carson Cook (Las Vegas, Nev.) notched the Falcons' second win of the day via an 11-1 major decision at 157 pounds, bringing the dual's score to 16-9.

At 184 pounds, senior Jonathan Pullen (Joliet, Ill.) notched another victory for the Falcons, collecting a fall in the bout's opening frame. Fellow senior Peyton Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) earned a victory by a 6-4 decision in the ensuing match to collect Concordia's fourth win.

The Raiders would go on to win the dual by a 28-18 margin after taking a win in the heavyweight match.

Concordia's next action will be against the 9-2 North Central Cardinals in a dual meet on February 8.
