
Falcons Finish Bobcats on Friday Night
MEQUON, Wis. - The CUW wrestling team took on Bryant and Stratton for the second year in a row on the Friday before the CUW Open.
The Blue and White came out victorious in this matchup with a final score of 38-12.
Sophomore Devin Gore (Plymouth, Wis.) got things rolling with a bang after a 16-0 tech fall victory in 4:58.
The Falcons benefitted from a pair of forfeit victories in the 133 and 141-pound weight classes.
The Bobcats scored their ninth point off a forfeit at the 157-pound weight class.
Another Bobcat forfeit scored six more points for the Blue and White.
The 174-pound weight class was occupied by junior Jonathan Pullen (Joliet, Ill.). Pullen claimed the 7-4 decision after a pair of escapes and a pair of takedowns.
A 4-11 decision defeated senior Carson Cook (Las Vegas, Nev.).
The 197-pound weight class saw the only pin of the evening with freshman Ruben Vasquez (Westminster, Calif.) claiming one in 3:33.
The heavyweight class saw another Bobcat forfeit.
The Falcons are amped to continue their action-packed weekend on Saturday in the 29th annual CUW Open.
