29th Annual CUW Open

MEQUON, Wis. - The prestigious Concordia Open will once again be one of the strongest NCAA Division III tournaments in the nation, with five teams that are currently ranked in the top ten. In the latest NWCA Division III poll, ranked teams participating on Saturday include defending national champion Wartburg (No. 1), North Central (No. 3), UW-La Crosse (No. 5), Stevens Institute NJ (No. 7), Wabash (No. 9), UW-Whitewater (No. 11), Loras (No. 13), and the University of Chicago (No. 19).

The Falcon wrestling team, in head coach Kevin Koch's sixth year, opened the season at home last week with two dominating wins over Carthage (40-2) and Lakeland (57-0) on Parent and Senior night.  Concordia returns eight seniors and is led by 157-pound, senior Jack O'Donnell who was 2-0 last week after going 25-9 his junior year.

This Friday at 6:00 pm, the Falcons will host Bryant & Stratton Junior College in a non-conference dual prior to the Concordia Open on Saturday.

The Open will take place on eight mats, starting at 9:00 am with the championship finals at approximately 4:30 pm.  All eight mats will have live video that can be accessed through cuwfalcons.com.
