EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The CUW wrestling team wrapped up their season on Saturday at the Upper Midwest Regionals.

After five takedowns by O'Donnell as well as an escape and a two-point near fall, O'Donnell snagged a 15-7 major decision victory in his first matchup of the day.

O'Donnell was defeated in a high-scoring bout that ended in a 10-21 major decision. O'Donnell recorded four takedowns and two escapes in this matchup.

With that loss, he moved into the fifth-place bout. In this matchup, O'Donnell won a nail-biter of a match. The first period ended up tied at four heading into the second. A takedown by O'Donnell and two escapes from his opponent tied the bout at six heading into the final frame.

O'Donnell struck first in the third period with a takedown 15 seconds in. His opponent escaped 12 seconds later but gave O'Donnell some valuable riding time. Another takedown by the Falcon 20 second later put O'Donnell up with a total score of 10-7. His opponent was able to escape but not before giving up another 52 seconds in riding time. A last-ditch effort for O'Donnell's opponent saw a takedown to tie the match up at 10.

It was of no matter though for O'Donnell who had snagged the extra point for having over one minute of riding time and took the 11-10 decision victory earning himself a fifth-place position.

The Falcons close the book on the season and start to prepare for the next one.
