Trio of Wrestlers named NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. – Concordia University Wisconsin had three wrestlers named National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American honors, the organization announced at the NCAA Division III Championship. Sean Ambrocio, Casey Kenealy and Mason Mergener all earned the distinct academic honor.

Ambrocio (senior, San Antonio, Texas) has a 3.34 grade point average as a Rehabilitative Science major. He ended his final season in a Falcons singlet with a 25-4 overall record, which included four victories by fall.

Kenealy (senior, Hartford, Wis.) has a 3.36 grade point average as a Justice and Public Policy major. He also concluded his career in a Falcons singlet after putting together an 18-11 overall record this season, including three wins by fall.

Mergener (sophomore, Crivitz, Wis.) has a 3.68 grade point average as a Marketing major. He was the only CUW wrestler to advance to the NCAA Division III Championships this season and ended the year with a 21-12 overall record, with four wins coming by fall.
