St. Scholastica Stings Men's Soccer

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team closed a busy weekend with a 1-2 loss to St. Scholastica on Sunday afternoon. The loss sends the Falcons to 2-2-0 on the season.

The Saints struck first on Sunday off a free kick just outside of the 18th-yard box in the 26th minute.

The Falcons tied the game in the 50th minute when sophomore Carson Kelly (Fond Du Lac, Wis.) scored a penalty kick past the diving keeper.

St. Scholastica reclaimed the lead four minutes later on a penalty kick.

The Falcons threatened late with a scramble in the final minute, but could not connect.

Concordia Wisconsin held a 20-12 advantage in shots on Sunday. The Falcons also posted an 11-4 advantage in corners.

Sophomore Jeremy Munoz (Milwaukee, Wis.) posted six saves against the Saints.

Freshman Joey Moua (Eau Claire, Wis.) notched four shots for the Falcons.

The Falcons open Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Wednesday at home against Benedictine.
