Men's Soccer scores thrice in win over Northland

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team scored thrice to take a 3-0 victory over the visiting Northland College. The Falcons controlled the game with 25 shots taken to improve to 2-1-0 on the season.

THE BASICS

-Records: Concordia Wisconsin 2-1-0, Northland 0-2-1

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Cristian Tyrpak (Hartford, Wis.) put the Falcons on the board by taking a pass from Avery Grondin (La Salle, Ontario) and heading it past the Lumberjacks' goalie. The goal is Tyrpak's second of the season, giving him the early team lead in the category.

-Spencer Standarski (Waukesha, Wis.) gave CUW some breathing room with a second-half goal to put the Falcons up by two. Bobby McNealy (Burlington, Wis.) assisted Standarski with his first goal of the season.

-Nick Anweiler (Plainfield, Ill.) tacked on a goal with less than five minutes remaining to seal the game for Concordia. Charlie Danek (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) set up Anweiler for the goal and earned the assist.

-The Falcons controlled the game for the duration of the match. CUW took 25 shots while Northland had not a single one. Lumberjack goalkeeper Austin Stuckart had 10 saves in the match.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

Today was the first time CUW has ever faced Northland.
