Men's Soccer settles for 1-1 tie at Edgewood

MADISON, Wis. – Simon Da-Silva scored in the 16th minute as the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie in a NACC match at Edgewood Wednesday evening. The Eagles answered with a second-half goal and neither team could find the game-winner in the overtime sessions, resulting in the NACC draw.

THE BASICS
- Final Score:
Concordia Wisconsin 1, Edgewood 1
- Location: Breese Stevens Field – Madison, Wisconsin
- Records: CUW 4-4-1, 1-1-1 NACC; Edgewood 5-3-2, 0-1-2 NACC

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Da-Silva (Lagos, Nigeria) put the Falcons on the board in the 16th minute as the freshman forward tallied his second goal of the season.

- That would be all the scoring in the match for the Falcons, but unfortunately, Edgewood tallied an equalizer in the 66th minute. Jorge Castellanos took a pass from Garrett Lee and tied the game at 1-1, which would end up as the final tally of the contest.

- Both teams finished five shots on goal as Nate Yeager (Rio Rancho, N.M.) and his counterpart, Carson Hughes, each recorded four stops. Yeager made the only save of either overtime session, picking one up in the first 10 extra minutes.

- The Falcons finished the night with a slight, 20-19 edge in total shots. Both teams finished with four shots in the overtime sessions, the Falcons with one in the first overtime and three in the second. All four of the Eagles overtime opportunities came in the first 10 extra minutes.
