MALVIN POSTGAME

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Adkins (Victoria, British Columbia) scored 1:21 into play on a perfect one-timer from Jim Pearson (Ashton, Ontario). With the Falcons on a 2-on-1 Pearson waited until just the right moment to find Adkins, who had a wide open right side of the net for a 1-0 Falcons lead.

- Adkins was at it again midway through the period, scoring his second goal of the contest, this time coming off a Dante Hahn (Victoria, British Columbia) pass.

- Malvin (Ham Lake, Minn.) tallied 13 first period saves to keep CUW up 2-0. The Falcons would go up 3-0 5:18 into the second on a shorthanded score by senior Brody Decker (Dousman, Wis.). Adam Fauchoux (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan) and Mac Ferner (Vernon, British Columbia) assisted on the play.

- Malvin finished the game with 29 saves, allowing one power play goal in the third period. The Falcons shorthanded unit was great on Friday, killing off seven of the Saints eight power plays, and scoring once shorthanded.

- The two teams combined for 53 minutes in the penalty box, CUW committing 11 penalties for 33 minutes. The Saints were whistled 10 times for 20 minutes in the box.
