Coachman captures Commissioner's Cup Title with Watertown Wolves

WATERTOWN, N.Y. – Justin Coachman, who began his professional hockey career with the Watertown Wolves on March 2, didn't have to wait long to become a champion. Coachman and the Wolves captured the Commissioner's Cup Wednesday night with a 3-1 series win over the Port Huron Howlers.

Coachman (Rochester, N.Y.) skated four years for the Falcons and wrapped up his career in February. Shortly after the season he had an opportunity with the Wolves and made the most of it with the team's first championship since the 2015 season.

The Wolves dropped the opening game of the Federal Hockey League Finals before winning three straight to capture the title.

Coachman made a strong impact on the Wolves season as the team posted a 15-2-3 record after he joined the group on March 2. He skated in 16 of those games, including six in the postseason. Coachman was on the ice for all four games in the championship series.
