Falcons Finish WLC Classic

HARTFORD, Wis. - The CUW golf team finished up their weekend at the WLC Classic. The squad finished in 12th place with a final score of 893 strokes. Luther took home the title with 736 strokes and a first-place finish.

Freshman Cole Shane (Park Ridge, Ill.) finished in team-first with a second-day score of 84 strokes and a final score of 164 strokes for a 48th-place finish.

Freshman Francisco Ascenio Beltra (Ibi, Spain) finished with the lowest Falcon score on day two with 81 strokes and a final score of 169 strokes for a 62nd-place finish.

In team third was sophomore Nico Murgas-Bennett (Hartford, Wis.). Murgas-Bennett finished with a second-day score of 90 strokes, the same score from day one, for a total of 180 strokes and a 78th-place finish.

Sophomore Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.) finished with a 91-stroke second day for a total score of 183 strokes and an 82nd-place finish.

Rounding out the Falcon squad was freshman William Popp (Fitchburg, Wis.). Popp recorded 103 strokes on the second day of the classic and finished with a total of 197 strokes and an 87th-place finish.

The Blue and White head to New Glarus, Wisconsin for the Clarke Invite.
