Men's Golf in 10th Place at NACC Championship Halfway Point

KOHLER, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's golf team competed in the second round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championships on Monday at Meadow Valley Course at Blackwolf Run. The Falcons dropped one spot to 10th place with a combined 350 strokes on Monday. The Falcons improved one stroke from Sunday and have 701 strokes at the halfway point of the competition.

After being tied with St. Norbert after round one at 304 strokes, Aurora took the lead with 289 strokes on Monday to lead by 11 strokes at 593 overall.

Freshman Dylan Smith (Amherst, Wis.) had the best round of the day for the Blue and White at 86 strokes, highlighted by a birdie on hole No. 13. He dropped seven strokes from the Sunday round and is in 46th place at 179 strokes.

Freshman Ray Baldus (Mayville, Wis.) brought in a round of 87 strokes on Monday. He is in 39th at the halfway point with 173 strokes.

Freshman Tyler Klett (Paw Paw, Mich.) collected 88 strokes in the second round of the tournament. Klett had the biggest drop from Sunday, saving 11 strokes on Monday in 56th place at 187 strokes.

Junior Trevor Wotring (Johnsburg, Ill.) and senior Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.) both finished with 89 strokes on Monday. Wotring landed a birdie on the first hole. Wotring finishes the fall portion of the championships tied for 39th place with Ray Baldus at 173 strokes. Yaun resides in 42nd place with Carter Boehmer of Lakeland at 177 strokes.

Sophomore Isaac Seidel (Wausau, Wis.) rounded out the flock with 90 strokes on the afternoon. Seidel slashed six strokes away from Sunday and resides in 54th place with 187 strokes along with Tanner Schultz of Lakeland.

The Falcons will finish the NACC Championships on April 27 and 28 at Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora, Illinois.
