Men's Golf Ends Long Weekend in Kansasville

KANSASVILLE, Wis. - The CUW men's golf team finished up the Midwest Region Classic on Monday evening.

The Falcons finished in 26th place with a total of 685 strokes.  North Park held their lead with 593 total strokes.

Freshman Cole Shane (Park Ridge, Ill.) led the flock with a 10-over-par final score for 154 total strokes.  Shane finished day two with 76 strokes which included four birdies.

Sophomore Nico Murgas-Bennett (Hartford, Wis.) finished one shot better on day two with 86 strokes and a total of 29 over par.  His 173 strokes included one total birdie from day one.

Cutting his score by seven total strokes, freshman Francisco Ascenio Beltra (Ibi, Spain) recorded a day-two score of 85 strokes and a total of 177 strokes.  Ascenio Beltra had one birdie on day two for a total of two for the tournament.

Sophomore Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.) finished in fourth place for the Falcons with a total score of 181 strokes.  Yaun recorded 94 strokes on day two.

Rounding out the Falcon squad was sophomore Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich.).  Samsell finished with 199 total strokes with 97 coming on day two.

The Blue and White head to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for the Wisconsin - Stout Fall Invitational on Saturday.
