Men's Golf in 10th after one round of MSOE Invitational

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin sits in 10th place after the first day of the MSOE Invitational at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa's par 71, 6,650 yard course. Evan Rabas leads the Falcons with a tie for 16th place.

Rabas (freshman, Sherwood, Wis.) fired a 5-over-par 76, which tied his lowest career round that he shot last weekend. He sank three birdies and had a 36 on the back nine. The Falcons shot a 323 team total, which was the fifth lowest round of the season.

Edgewood College leads the tournament after firing a 293 team total, with Carthage College in second place and four strokes back. Kenny Rucker (Edgewood College) and Riley Bauman (Carthage College) are tied for first place after shooting a 2-under-par 69. Four other golfers are in a tie for second place with an even-par 71.

Junior Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) carded a 7-over-par 78, including a 37 on the back nine, to tie for 29th position. Sophomore Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.) is tied for 50th after shooting an 84. Sophomore Bill Jones (New Holstein, Wis.) and freshman Oliver Sadiq (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) shot an 85 and 86, respectively, to round out the Falcons lineup.

The second and final round will conclude on Monday.
