Wheaton talent dominates Concordia fall Golf Classic

MEQUON, Wis. Nobody had comparable talent to Wheaton's impressive 10 man contingent at the Falcon Fall Classic Tuesday.

Wheaton's Tommy Cardle fired a one over par 73 in cool and windy conditons to lead all competitors, while six of his teammates also managed scores in the 70's.  That allowed the Illinois school to take both the first and second place team scores in the nine team event held at the North Shore Country Club.

CUW's five man team, by contrast, had three players tied for their top spot, but all shot 87's.  Eric Hertel (Sr./ Franklin, Wis.)  Chris Payne (So./ Waukesha, Wis.) and Cameron Herdt (Fr./ Oconomowoc, Wis.) all wound up 15 over par.  Freshman Elijah Glasenapp (Milwaukee, Wis.) actually had the best Falcon round with an 86, but he played as an individual.

Concordia's 350 four player total allowed Coach Ray Engelking's linksters to edge out last place Elmhurst by two strokes.
