Men’s Golf competes in NAC Championships

AURORA, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin competed in the Northern Athletics Conference Championship's second, third and fourth rounds on Sunday and Monday at Stonebridge Country Club. The Falcons finished ninth overall and Chris Payne led the team with a 26th place finish.

CUW carded a low total of 329 during the tournament's third round on Monday morning behind a trio of 80s from Payne (sophomore, Waukesha, Wis.), freshman Elijah Glasenapp (Milwaukee, Wis.) and senior Eric Hertel (Franklin, Wis.). The Falcons shot 335-345-329-354 (1,363 total) to finish at 211-over-par.

MSOE won the NAC title after shooting a 1,243 total, 91-over-par, which was three shots better than Edgewood College. The Raiders' Scott Loftus won individual medalist honors after carding a 10-over-par 298 total. He also shot the tournament's low round, 71, during the fourth round.

Payne led the Falcons with a team-best 79 round in the opening round, which was completed on Oct. 15 at Whistling Straights (Irish Course) in Kohler, Wis. He finished with a 337 total (49-over-par).
