Falcons defeat Maranatha 73- 58

For the first twenty minutes Concordia (7-7) absolutely intimidated visiting Maranatha with scrambling, trapping defensive tactics while building a 35-12 halftime lead on the way to a 73-58 win.

CUW guard Mitchell Schneider tallied 13 of his 15 total points in the first half (singlehandedly outscoring Maranatha) and his teammates created that same number of Crusader turnovers before the break.

Half number two was more of the same for the first five minutes as the Falcon lead grew to 30 points (46-16).

Maranatha (3-7 overall) rallied from that point on, actually outscoring Concordia 39-21 over the next dozen minutes as the CUW defensive pressure let up with 16 Falcon players seeing action.

Kyle Barth (15) tied Schneider for scoring honors and those two players also combined for 19 rebounds. Joel Borchardt led MBBC with 15 points.

Shawn Cassidy's cagers (4-3 in the NAC) travel to Lakeland next Tuesday for a 7:00pm matchup.
