MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Concordia University Wisconsin field hockey team suffered a 0-7 defeat against the Rhodes College Lynx on Saturday, bringing their record to 1-8.
The first half ended with Rhodes in control, leading 4-0 after scoring three goals in the second quarter. Despite CUW's determined defensive efforts, the Lynx maintained their offensive pressure and added three more goals in the second half to seal the victory.
In a notable performance, sophomore Leah Mouganis (Pittsburg, Pa.) achieved her first career multi-defensive save game, recording a personal best of three saves. Freshman Anna Washburn (Suffield, Conn.) also contributed with a defensive save.
In goal, freshman Carlijn van der Bend (Voorburg, Netherlands) made five saves, while sophomore Parks Cawthray (Oakville, Ont.) recorded a season-high 14 saves, just shy of her career best from last season.
The Falcons will have another opportunity to secure a victory as they face conference rival Sewanee next.
