Football donates $1,800 to Ronald McDonald House

MEQUON, Wis. – This past March the Concordia University Wisconsin football team held a May Madness 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to raise money for a charity of their choice. They chose the Ronald McDonald House and the seniors on the team presented a check for $1,800 to Ronald McDonald House representative Jerry Ryack at halftime of their Homecoming game against Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin is dedicated to easing the burden of families whose lives have been disrupted as a result of their child's illness or injury. The House provides a home away from home and caring outreach initiatives. Since the Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in 1984 it has served over 33,000 families. Although a $10 per night donation is asked from each family to offset the cost of operating the House, no family is ever turned away because of inability to pay. In reality, it costs about $100 per night to operate the House and that is why public donations are so important. Likewise, the House collects pop-tabs and the money from this program provides additional funding each year to keep our doors open.

The Falcons were victorious over the Crusaders, 55-8, at Tomasini Stadium behind sophomore quarterback Austin Damaschke's (Bristol, Wis.) five-touchdown performance.
