SHORT YARDAGE NOTES

• Concordia University Wisconsin returns to the road for the second-straight week during the 2012 campaign. The Falcons are not far from their season-opening location at Augsburg College – just 5.5 miles – as Macalester College will be the host school.
• The two schools have not met during the Greg Etter era. The Scots bring a 1-0 record into the matchup, while Falcons are 0-1.
• CUW was selected to finish fifth in the Northern Athletics Conference, while MC is not in a conference for football.

• CUW trailed 14-7 at halftime at Augsburg College last week before the Auggies turned it on and outscored the Falcons 23-13 in the second half. AC controlled the majority of the game and finished with advantages in first downs (23-13), rushing yards (260-96) and total yards (416-279).
• Senior running back Carlton Austin (Kingsford Heights, Ind.) ran hard for 67 yards on 10 carries.
• Sophomore Garret Wenzelburg (Hartland, Wis.) was sophomore quarterback Austin Damaschke's (Bristol, Wis.) go-to target, as he hauled in six receptions for 86 yards.
• However, Senior Erik West (Plymouth, Wis.) was looked to in the red zone and finished with two touchdowns receptions.
• First-time punter Hunter Bruenig (Lodi, Wis.) performed well – 45.4 average on seven punts – and boomed a 65-yarder.
• Senior Matt Upson (New Berlin, Wis.) recorded a career-high 15 tackles, three solo. The linebacker also had 0.5 sack for a 4-yard loss, a forced fumble and pass breakup.

LAST WEEK AT A GLANCE: SCOTS CRUISE IN SEASON OPENER

• It did not take long for the Scots to take control of the game. MC held a 28-0 lead over Crown College after the first quarter and rolled to a 53-6 victory.
• MC finished with a 450-171 total yard advantage and intercepted CC's quarterback three times.
• Quarterback Clark Bledsoe finished the game 17-of-18 for 228 yards and a touchdown, while T. Joe Loiselle ran for 93 yards two touchdowns.
• The Scots allowed just nine first downs and the Storm to just 20:23 of possession time.

LOOKING AHEAD, HOME OPENER

• Sept. 15, 2012, at Tomasini Stadium, will be the Falcons home opener.
• It is also Military Day, with a variety of pre-game activities scheduled to take place. Military vehicles will be on hand for fans to look at, local region posts will present the colors, CUW's kammerchor will sing the national anthem and local military personnel will be present.
• Greg Etter will be looking for his first home victory since becoming the CUW mentor.

• Saturday, Oct. 6 (1 p.m.) – CUW hosts Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Homecoming weekend. A variety of events will take place during the week leading up to the game and also on game day.
• Saturday, Oct. 27 (1 p.m.) – Family members are welcomed to watch the football team and enjoy a weekend filled with festivities during CUW's annual Family Weekend.
• Saturday, Nov. 10 (12 p.m.) – CUW hosts Wisconsin Lutheran College during the regular season finale with the Luther Cup up for grabs.

• As per team tradition since Greg Etter arrived, the Falcons select senior captains for the season.
• The 2012 senior captains are:
