No. 15 ACHA closes the regular season in winning fashion

MEQUON, Wis. – The 15th-ranked Falcons closed the regular season with an 8-5 victory on Saturday against Purdue Northwest. The Falcons Pinked the Rink to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

Sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) recorded a hat trick with three goals in the first period.

Freshman John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) started the scoring in the second period off a pass from sophomore Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.).

Senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) found the back of the net in the second period to tie the game at five.

Sherman struck again in the final minute of the second period to score the eventual game-winning goal.

Senior Cody Faber (Wilmot, Wis.) scored 25 seconds into the third period on the power play and Trenton Sherman scored one for the thumb to close the scoring with five goals.

Sophomore Ian Robertson (Calgary, Alt.) had 41 saves in the victory.

The Falcons will wait and see if they secured a spot in the ACHA National Tournament.
