ACHA Men’s Hockey falls at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The CUW ACHA Men's Hockey team fell short on Sunday evening at Adrian. The Bulldogs leveled the weekend series with a 6-2 victory to send each team to 1-1-0 on the young season.

The Bulldogs were able to tip in the puck off a rebound 6:27 into the game to start the scoring on Sunday evening.

The Black and Gold struck again in the second period to extend the lead to two goals. The Bulldogs scored again three minutes later to score the third goal of the game.

The Falcons were able to light the lamp in the final minute of the second period.

For the second-straight day, the Falcons were able to score on a five-on-three advantage. Senior Cody Faber (Wilmot, Wis.) was able to score on the power play, off tic-tac-toe passes from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) and junior Matt Gregor (Ashland, Wis.).

Wyatt Wilderman tapped in a rebound 22 seconds into the third period to cut into the Adrian lead.

The Bulldogs were able to extend the lead with a breakaway goal on the penalty kill.

Adrian was able to add to the lead on the power play.

The Black and Gold added the sixth goal with just over a minute remaining in regulation.

Sophomore Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) finished the evening with 30 saves.

The Falcons will return to action on Friday night at home against Iowa State.
