FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The 10th-ranked Sabres escaped an upset with a 6-5 victory on Friday night.
The Falcons led 2-0 after the first period off a pair of goals from sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.).
The Falcons added goals from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) and Trenton Sherman to hold onto a 4-3 lead heading into the third period.
The Blue and White added a goal from Wyatt Wilderman, but the Sabres struck three times in the third period to secure the victory.
Sophomore Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) finished the night with 37 saves.
CUW looks to get revenge on Saturday night at home.
