Concordia Wisconsin adds ACHA Division II Men's Hockey

Concordia University Wisconsin Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill has announced the addition of ACHA Division II Men's Hockey, a new club sport for the school. The team will replace the current Junior Varsity Men's Hockey program and will begin during the 2017-18 season.

"I am very pleased to announce that we are going to be adding an ACHA Division 2 club men's hockey team to our sports team lineup," Barnhill said. "There are thousands of kids that finish high school and junior hockey that wish to continue to play the great sport of ice hockey in college. Unfortunately, there are simply too few opportunities that exist for them to realize their dream. We believe that this program will provide a great opportunity for kids to have a legitimate college hockey experience while pursuing their education at CUW."

The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) features three men's divisions and the Falcons will join the largest division. There are currently 205 teams in ACHA Division II, including local programs such as Marian and Aurora.
