ACHA Hockey swept at St. Mary's
WINONA, Minn. – The Concordia University Wisconsin ACHA Men's Hockey team dropped a pair of games this past weekend against St. Mary's (Minnesota). The Falcons fell by a 6-3 score in the opener, before dropping a 6-4 contest Sunday.

ST MARY'S 6, CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 3
- The Falcons fell behind 4-0 with the Cardinals scoring three goals in the first and adding the first goal of the second stanza. Cole Anderson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Zach Fountain helped cut the deficit to 4-2, but the Cardinals went back up three before the final period began.
- Fountain (West Bend, Wis.) impressed in his first game of the season, scoring two goals for the Falcons. Anderson finished the game with a goal and an assist.
- Kale Johnstone paced the Cardinals with a pair of goals. St. Mary's finished the game with a 38-28 edge in shots as the Falcons Robert Houle (Sun Prairie, Wis.) stopped 33 shots – the last goal for St. Mary's was scored with an empty net.
ST. MARY'S 6, CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 4
- It was the Falcons who struck first on Sunday on an unassisted score by Adam Natzke (Ballwin, Missouri.). The Cardinals had an answer, however, scoring two goals before the first period ended.
- CUW would tie the score at 2-2 on Anderson's second goal of the weekend just 1:50 in the second period. Just like in the first stanza, St. Mary's responded with two goals, Johnstone tallying one of them. Johnstone scored once in each period to finish with the hat trick for the Cardinals.
- The Falcons would again answer to tie the game on goals by Anthony Pickering (Sylvan Lake, Alberta) and Andrew Doepp (New Lenox, Ill.) midway through the third period. Unfortunately, St. Mary's had the final response, scoring two more goals, the last an empty-netter for a 6-4 final.
- St. Mary's again held a shot advantage, Sunday's total reading 41-23 in favor of the home team. Brian Johnson (Plainfield, Ill.) made 36 saves for the Falcons.

- The Falcons are off this weekend and will return to the ice December 1-2 with a two-game road series at Augustana (Illinois).
