ACHA Men's Hockey falls in opener at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Concordia University Wisconsin ACHA Men's Hockey team made its program debut late Friday night in a road contest at Illinois. The Falcons fell by a 5-3 score, despite a two-goal and one assist effort from Anthony Pickering.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Illinois 5, Concordia Wisconsin 3
- Records: Illinois 1-2; CUW 0-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Illini scored the first two goals of the contest before the Falcons got on the board. Andrej Buchko scored the first goal for CUW, which was assisted by Pickering and Cole Anderson.

- Pickering tallied the final two goals of the contest for the Falcons. His first was unassisted, while Buchko assisted on the second score.

- Five different players scored for the Illini, who were playing their third contest of the season after taking on Iowa last week.
