Metanova named MWLC Defensive Player of the Week honors
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin goalkeeper Veronika Metanova was named Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
Metanova (Palatine, Ill.) helped the Falcons to a pair of wins in MWLC play, which resulted in at least a share of the regular season title. The senior made numerous critical saves, 15 in all, during a victory over undefeated Illinois Institute of Technology. She also had six saves in a home victory over Concordia Chicago. She also picked up a combined three ground balls in the two games.
The conference award is the second of her career.
