Free-position notes: Women's Lacrosse ready for Pipers matchup

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin begins a difficult stretch of MWLC games on Saturday at 12 pm against Hamline at Fitting Fied.

NEWSWORTHY NOTES
- GROUND BALLS IMPORTANT:
The ground ball statistic may not seem important, but picking up loose balls have value in the game. The Falcons lead the MWLC averaging 25 per game, while the Pipers are last in the league averaging 9.8 per game.
- EFFICIENCY ON THE CLEAR MAY BE A FACTOR: Hamline is very efficient on the clear and is 121-of-150 this season, good for 80.7 percent to lead the MWLC. Meanwhile, Concordia Wisconsin is 142-of-220 on the clear (64.5 percent) and ranks 10th in the league.
- LOCKDOWN MODE: Concordia Wisconsin's defense has been on lockdown mode the last two games, combining for 39 caused turnovers and 56 ground balls. The 24 caused turnovers were the third-most in a game in program history.
- LAST TIME THEY MET: CUW built a 6-3 halftime lead and stayed in front of Hamline  the rest of the game before winning 13-9 at Fitting Field. Allison Kurek had herself an outstanding game with five goals, six ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers.
- MESSY MWLC STANDINGS: There are six teams jumbled atop in the standings with a minimum of two losses, with just two undefeated teams remaining.
