NEWSWORTHY NOTES
• JOINING THE CLUB:
Brianna Wagner scored 18 points on Saturday in a road win at Dominican and needed just eight points to become the 17th player in program history to reach the coveted milestone. Throughout her career, she has scored 10.7 points and is having a career season averaging 13.7 per game.
• NEED TO WIN: Concordia Wisconsin currently sits in second place in the NACC standings with a 14-4 record and a game ahead of Chicago who is 13-5 in league play. The Falcons must win their next two games to secure the No. 2 seed in the NACC Tournament. If they go 1-1 or 0-2 they would be forced to play in one of the two quarterfinal games next Wednesday.
• A DECADE+: Concordia Wisconsin has controlled the series against Rockford, winning 19-consecutive games that has lasted 12 seasons. During that span , he Falcons have outscored the Regents by an average of 18.6 points. In the last meeting on December 16, Concordia Wisconsin jumped out a 25-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back before winning 80-45.
POUNDING THE PAINT: The Falcons have been strong this season around the rim, scoring 614 points in the paint or 41.4 percent of the total production this season. In all, 17-of-23 games they have recorded 20 or more points in the paint and five times tallied 40-plus points around the hoop.
• SCOUTING ROCKFORD: The Regents enter on a four-game losing streak and are 11th in the league in scoring (50.5) and last in field goal percentage (30.2) and points allowed (69.9). On a positive note, Rockford is third in the conference in steals per game (9.2) and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (12.7).
