LAS VEGAS – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Basketball team picked up its seventh-straight win, defeating Adrian College, 62-59 Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons used a balanced attack, with four players scoring in double figures, to finish the Las Vegas Hoopla with a 2-0 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons entered the fourth quarter with a 10-point lead, winning each of the first three quarters. CUW would extend its lead to a game-best 12 points on a pair of Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) free throws early in the fourth quarter.
- The lead hovered around 6-10 points for much of the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs made it a four-point game with under 20 seconds to go. An Adrian 3-point with five seconds remaining made the score 60-59 before Clara Chambers (Darlington, Wis.) made a pair of free throws to put the Falcons up three. Adrian's 3-point attempt at the buzzer was not good as the Falcons held on for their seventh straight win.
- Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) paced the Falcons with 16 points, one of four starters to reach double-figures. Scharmer and Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) added 13 points, while Chambers finished with 11. Chambers was 5-for-5 from the line, while Scharmer finished 5-of-6 as the Falcons shot 70 percent (14-of-20) as a team.
- Scharmer pulled down a team-best nine rebounds for CUW as the Falcons and Bulldogs each finished with 36 boards in the game. CUW did win the turnover battle on Wednesday, committing just nine, compared to 16 for Adrian.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons have posted at least a seven-game winning streak in three straight seasons. Last year, CUW won eight straight contests from January 28-February 23.
THE OPPOSITION
- Shannon Garvey finished with 26 points to lead all scorers. Angelina Goosby posted a double-double for Adrian with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
