NEWSWORTHY NOTES
• GETTING BACK ON TRACK:
While the results from the Concordia Invitational Tournament aren't what the Falcons had played for, history is on their side. In the game following CIT, they have compiled an 11-2 record (6-2 at home) and have won three games in a row after the hyped tournament.
• SCHARMER SHOWING EFFORT: Senior Audrey Scharmer is putting on a show, with her countless double-doubles and effort plays game-in and game-out. The forward had a 24-point and 21-rebound game, which is the only known 20-20 game in program history against Concordia Chicago on Friday. She is averaging 14.8 points and 11.8 rebounds since December 16, with eight double-doubles during that span.
• MOMENTUM TO COME: Concordia Wisconsin has six games remaining on its regular season schedule and four of those games come against teams not currently in the top-6 of the NACC standings. Of the remaining six teams to play, the Falcons are 4-2 against those teams from earlier this year and a momentum-shifting run is one their side.
• WE VALUE THE BALL: The Falcons rarely turn the ball over, evident by their NACC-leading 12.7 miscues per game, which also ranks fifth nationally. They have committed 12 or fewer turnovers in nine games this season and are 8-1 in those games.
• SCOUTING MARIAN: The Sabres have struggled this season, with just three wins to their credit. They recently defeated Rockford, 51-39, on January 20 to snap a 12-game losing streak. Marian is led by Brandi Bender, who is averaging 13.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She has seven-straight double-digit scoring games and 21 steals over the last five contests.
