Strong 2nd quarter gives Falcons home NACC victory

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin outscored Marian 17-7 in the second quarter of Tuesday night's NACC matchup, which proved to be the difference during a 56-45 victory for the Falcons inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marian played strong against Concordia Wisconsin, except during the second quarter when it shot 18.8 percent. Meanwhile, the Falcons made 54.5 percent of their attempts and within the second period put together an 11-1 scoring run over a nearly six-minute stretch.
- Statistics were fairly even across the box score, with slit advantages to Concordia Wisconsin in turnovers (12-15), points off turnovers (13-11), points in the paint (22-18) and bench production (15-11).
- Freshman Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) tallied 16 points, including a career-best four 3-pointers. Senior Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) had 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
- Senior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) ended with 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Junior Marciarae' Harmon (Milwaukee, Wis.) had seven points, three assists and a career-high four steals in 22 minutes off the bench.

THE OPPOSITION
- Rachel Serchen had a game-high-tying 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while also grabbing seven rebounds. Brandi Bender finished with eight points, nine rebounds and two steals.
