Women’s Basketball earns victory at the free throw line

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – There was little flow to Wednesday afternoon's non-conference game, with a combined 57 fouls and 70 free throws attempted, but in the end, Concordia Wisconsin took advantage of its opportunities at the charity stripe to earn an 83-79 victory at UW-Platteville.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin ended the win by making 32-of-44 free throw attempts and led nearly from start to finish (38:23 in total). Down the stretch, they made 15-of-21 free throws in the final 10 minutes of the game.
- The Falcons led by as many as 12 points but were in front by singles digits the majority of the matchup. Overall, a collective effort was seen from those that played and numerous rose to the occasion when needed.
- Senior Audrey Scharmer (Winona, Minn.) had a career-high 25 points – two nights after scoring a then-career-best 20 points at No. 20 UW-Whitewater. She also made 9-of-10 free throws, to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.
- Freshman Clara Chambers (Darlington, Wis.) tallied a career-best 19 points while making 7-of-8 free throws. Junior Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) recorded 10 points (5-of-6 free throws), four rebounds, four assists and stole a career-high five passes. Senior Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) added 10 points and five rebounds, while sophomore Arianna Liddicoat (Watertown, Wis.) dished out four assists. Junior Marciarae' Harmon (Milwaukee, Wis.) made 6-of-7 free throws before ending with eight points.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons 32 free throws made and 44 attempted are the second most ever in a game in program history. Concordia Wisconsin is 46-of-62 at the free throw line over the past two games and have shot no worse than 72.7 percent at the charity stripe in a game this season.
- Scharmer has scored 45 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the past two games against WIAC opponents.

THE OPPOSITION
- Maiah Domask had a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) to lead the Pioneers, while Miranda Meland had 14 points off the bench. Kassie Bucholz tallied 13 points as a starter in 18 minutes.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
