Men's Tennis splits a pair of matches on second day of spring trip

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis fell to Asbury University 9-0 to start off Wednesday's matches, but bounced back later in the afternoon to defeat Thomas College (ME) 7-2 to finish the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CUW faced a tough opponent to start off Wednesday's matches as they fell to Asbury 9-0. Asbury won all singles matches in straight sets.
- In the second match of the day CUW bounced back as they defeated Thomas College (ME) 7-2. The Falcons won two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.
- Sophomore Ceejay Schaffner (Winona, Minn.) and freshman Jonah Fowle (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) dominated their opponent at the No. 3 doubles winning 8-1.
- Sophomore Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.) played well at the No. 3 singles as he did not allow his opponent to get more than two points in each set. He would go on to win the match in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
- Schaffner continued his impressive play as he blanked his opponent in the No. 5 singles to win in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
- Senior Robert Spiering (Wauwatosa, Wis.) joined Schaffner in the shut-out column as he too went on to defeat his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles.
