Nommensen nets Men's Tennis Weekly Award

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin senior Benjamin Nommensen has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis.) played a big role in the Falcons 5-4 win over St. Norbert on Friday night at the Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club. He picked up a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, while also partnering with Trevor Budewitz at No. 1 doubles. The duo netted an 8-6 win in doubles play.

The weekly award was the third of Nommensen's career. He captured one weekly honor is sophomore season, while adding another last spring.

Nommensen and the Falcons will be back in action this weekend for a pair of matches on Saturday. They will open with Lawrence at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club before taking on Oakton Community College at 5:30 at Elite Sports Club.
