Krizenesky nets 21, Falcons clinch NACC Tournament berth

MEQUON, Wis. – Trevor Krizenesky continues to fool opponents with his scoring ability as he netted 21 points on Tuesday night to lead Concordia Wisconsin to an 88-80 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran. The Falcons victory clinched a spot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons put together a 20-6 scoring run during a six minute and 18 second span to turn a one-point deficit into a 13 points lead midway through the first half. From then on CUW's advantage hovered around double-digits, as they made 7-of-8 free throws over the last 1:46 of the win.
- To say CUW relied heavily on the 3-point shot is an understatement, as 38-of-78 field goal attempts in the game came from long range. They did make 11 triples, including four from senior Trevor Krizenesky (Brillion, Wis.).
- There were just two lead changes in the opening half, as both teams went on runs for extended periods of time. Wisconsin Lutheran led the first two-plus minutes before CUW took control for 14 minutes. The Warriors responded with a 14-0 scoring run, which eventually led to a 35-30 lead at halftime.
- The Falcons made adjustments at halftime and slowly chipped away until taking a 10-point lead with 10:26 to play in the game. From then on they owned all the momentum until the final horn sounded.
- Krizenesky tallied 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-10 from downtown, to go along career-bests in rebounds (six), assists (four) and steals (two).
- Sophomore Josh Erickson (Manitowoc, Wis.) added a career-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Senior James Mitchell (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.
- Junior Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) finished with nine points, a career-best 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Senior Brad Prinsen (Oostburg, Wis.) had eight points, eight rebounds and two steals, while senior Malcolm Bowers (Germantown, Wis.) added nine points.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 38 3-point attempts by the Falcons tied the program record for long ball attempts in a game, while the 78 field goal attempts were tied for the fifth most in a contest.
- CUW's bench outscored Wisconsin Lutheran's reserves 46-4 in the victory.

THE OPPOSITION
- Collin Kennedy paced all scorers with 27 points on 11-of-23, to go along with nine rebounds and two steals. Chase Nowak tallied 19 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
- Jake Jarnigo and Jim Marose ended with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
