Kittel, Erickson lead Men’s Basketball past Randolph in San Juan

BAYMON, Puerto Rico – Concordia University Wisconsin used some hot shooting from 3-point range to top Randolph 74-51 in their final game at the San Juan Shootout. The Falcons bench also produced 41 points in the win over the Wildcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CUW trailed by as much as seven in the first 20 minutes of play, but the Falcons used some hot shooting to outscore Randolph 24-11 in the final 13 minutes of the first half to take a six point halftime lead.
- In the second half it was all CUW who pushed their lead to double-digits three minutes into the final half of play and never looked back. The hot shooting continued from the Falcons as they would build their largest lead of the game of 25, with just over three minutes remaining.
- CUW shot an outstanding 50 percent (14-of-28) from 3-point range. Sophomore guard Josh Erickson (Manitowoc, Wis.) accounted for five of those 3-pointers, while senior guard Trevor Krizenesky (Brillion, Wis.) drained and junior guard Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) each drained multiple 3-pointers in the hot shooting display.
- Kittel led the Falcons with 16 points and six rebounds, Erickson added 15 and Krizenesky rounded the double-digit scorers with 11.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Erickson's 15 points and five 3-pointers are both new career-highs for the sophomore.
- CUW's 14 made 3-pointers, is the most made in a single game since the season opener back on Nov. 14.
- The Falcons led for 32 and half minutes of the game thanks to their outstanding shooting from the field.

THE OPPOSITION
- Ryan Fields led Randolph with 11 points off the bench and Josh Freund finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons have some time off now until after new year when they return home to take on Benedictine on Jan. 2 for the highly anticipated NACC matchup. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
