Falcons Finish the Regular Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's basketball team completed the regular season on Saturday afternoon inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse. They honored the senior class against Benedictine.

Senior Austin Thur (Bloomer, Wis.) started the scoring on Saturday with a layup off a turnover to give the Falcons the lead.

The two teams exchanged the lead on 10 different occasions in the first eight minutes.

Senior Tevin Dillon (Prattville, Ala.) gave the Falcons a 23-18 lead with a second-chance layup with 9:49 left in the first half.

The Eagles went on a run and pushed the lead to seven points on two separate occasions.

A layup from senior Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) cut the Benedictine lead to 38-35 at halftime. Jackson finished the first half with 16 points.

After Benedictine pushed the lead back to six points, the Falcons clawed back and reclaimed the lead at 44-43 with a layup from Freeman Jackson.

The two teams exchanged punches throughout the second half at were tied at 65 with 2:53 remaining.

Senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond du Lac, Wis.) gave the Falcons a 67-66 lead with 2:14 left on a layup and then once again with 1:08 left at 69-68 with a pair of free throws.

The Eagles outscored the Falcons in the final minute 5-0 to claim the victory.

Freeman Jackson dominated the contest with a career-high 30 points.

Gabe Pruss finished with a double-double performance with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He also reached the 500 career rebounding plateau. He also added three blocks.

The Falcons earned the fifth seed in the NACC Tournament with today's results and will travel to Rockford.
