Kahlfeldt’s season-high 31 points leads Falcons over Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin continued their winning ways on Wednesday night as they topped Rockford 112-99. The Falcons were led by senior Keith Kahlfeldt who scored a season-high 31 points in the win.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CUW commanded the game from the opening tip and leading the command was senior Keith Kahlfeldt (New Berlin, Wis.) and junior Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) who combined to score more than one-third of the team's first half points.
- The Falcons led by as much as 25 in the first half and would go into the intermission leading 62-38, after a late 3-pointer by senior Trevor Krizenesky (Brillion, Wis.) with six seconds remaining.
- CUW had four players score in double-digits in the first half. Kahlfeldt led with 15, Kittel added 13 points, while Krizenesky and sophomore Josh Erickson (Manitowoc, Wis.) scored 11 and 10, respectively.
- Kahlfeldt scored the first 10 CUW points coming out of the halftime break and freshman Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) added 10 of his career-high 15 points in the second half.
- Rockford would never cut the Falcons lead to single digits and would only get as close as 13 at the end of the game.
- The Falcons would finish with five players scoring in double-digits led by Kahlfeldt's 31. Kittel added 20, Fratzke tallied 15, and Krizenesky and Erickson would finish the night with 11 and 10, respectively.
- To go along with his career-high 15 points, Fratzke also pulled in 10 rebounds to register his second career double-double. He also led the defensive effort, blocking four shots on the night.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons 112 points, ranks fourth all-time in points scored in a single game.
- CUW scored over 100 points for the second season in a row at Rockford.
- Kahlfeldt is the second Falcon this season to score 30 or more points in a game this season. Kittel scored 30 points in the season opener against UW-River Falls.
- CUW, who averages about 10 made 3-pointers per game, sank nine of their 12 made 3-pointers in the first half.
- The Falcons bench outscored Rockford's bench 44-18.

THE OPPOSITION
- Rockford was led by Zach Wallace who scored a game-high 35 points, while Michael Murray added 26 points and pulled in a game-high 13 rebounds.

- CUW returns home to take on Aurora Saturday afteroon, Dec 1 at the R. John Buuck Field House. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
