Cross Country Programs Secure USTFCCCA Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS – On Thursday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its Academic Awards for the 2024 season.

The men's and women's cross country teams were named an All-Academic Team. To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. The Concordia women boast a 3.66 grade-point average and the Concordia men have a 3.58 grade-point average.

Two years ago, the Concordia Wisconsin men had the highest grade-point average in the nation.

In total 198 men's teams and 221 women's teams were honored at the NCAA Division III level.

The Falcons also landed four All-Academic Athletes in sophomore Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.), junior Melanie Arvis, (Berwyn, Ill.), senior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.), and junior Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Madrid, Spain).

To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meets.
