Falcons repeat as NACC regular season champs!

MILWAUKEE – Concordia Wisconsin captured its second-straight NACC regular season title on Tuesday night with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21) victory at MSOE. The Falcons also finished conference play with an 11-0 record for the second-consecutive year.

"We worked really hard tonight, especially after the first set, and I am excited for this team to be champions again," head coach Janelle Katz said. "It was another team victory and we were mentally tough. It's our never give up attitude and fearlessness at the net that keeps us strong."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin's offense wasn't up to its dominating form, but it didn't matter because its balance overwhelmed MSOE throughout the final three sets. The Falcons had two players with double-figure kills and five with at least six kills in the victory.
- After dropping the opening set for just the fourth time this season, the visitors responded by serving seven aces and hitting the ball much more efficiently.
- Concordia Wisconsin put together a convincing 10-2 scoring run to close the second set and even the match at 1-1. They did the same in the third frame with a 9-3 scoring run to gain momentum going into the final set.
- A quick burst of four-straight points after the set was tied 15-15 midway through the final stanza was all the Falcons needed for energy before taking the match.
- Senior Kaily (Moegenburg) Erdman (Plymouth, Wis.) and junior Amanda Schultz (North Prairie, Wis.) each had a match-best 12 kills, while Erdman also recorded 16 digs, five service aces and two block assists.
- Junior Haley Sedo (Neenah, Wis.) tallied 20 assists and senior Lindsey Casper (Hubertus, Wis.) posted 21 digs and five assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons haven't lost a league match in 24 matches, spanning just over two seasons.
- There were 28 scoring ties and 12 lead changes in the back-and-forth contest.
- Concordia Wisconsin clinches the NACC regular season outright and the No. 1 seed in the NACC Tournament for the second-consecutive season.
- Erdman's five service aces tie a career-high and became the fourth player in program history to record at least 100 service aces in a career. She ranks second all-time with 104 service aces.

THE OPPOSITION
- Rachel Lynde led the Raiders with nine kills, to go along with 17 digs, two solo blocks and three block assists. Allie Laurent had 27 assists, 15 digs and four kills.
- Shelby Borchardt ended with 23 digs and seven assists.
