Women’s Volleyball sweeps Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin quickly dispatched Lake Forest for a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-21) victory in non-conference action on Tuesday night. The Falcons have swept all four opponents to begin the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons wasted no time jumping in front of the Foresters, leading 14-6 in the early going. They continued their dominance as things played out by hitting .269 in the opening set to win 25-17 and taking a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Despite a short lull in the offensive efficiency, hitting just .028 in the second frame, Concordia Wisconsin still managed to dominate and win 25-15. Meanwhile, Lake Forest was worse on offense, hitting a dismal -.108 at the net.
- The third and final set was somewhat closer, with four scoring ties and a lead change, as the Foresters led 16-15 until the Falcons piled on five-straight points to pull away for the sweep.
- Junior Amanda Schultz (North Prairie, Wis.) and sophomores Kelsey Kleba (Hartland, Wis.), Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Holly Anderson (Grant Park, Ill.) all balanced the offensive attack with six kills.
- Junior Mackenzie Wockenfus (Appleton, Wis.) led the Falcons with 11 assists, while junior Haley Sedo (Neenah, Wis.) had eight helpers.
- Concordia Wisconsin served nine aces, with four players recording two each.
- Senior Lindsey Casper (Hubertus, Wis.) had a match-best 13 digs. Mayer also had a pair of solo blocks.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons have begun the season 4-0 for the second year in a row and the third time under fifth year head coach Janelle Katz.

THE OPPOSITION
- Olivia Grimmer led all players with 10 kills, while Hannah Nauet had 18 assists.
- Beana Yanovskaya made 11 digs and Grace Larson had 10 of her own.
