Volleyball downs Aurora for NACC sweep

AURORA, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin concluded the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference portion of its schedule with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-22) victory at Aurora University on Saturday afternoon. The win was the fifth consecutive for the Falcons and the 16th victory by sweep this season.

CUW had previously clinched the No. 2 seed in the NACC Tournament earlier in the week and didn't let down to finish NACC play with a 4-1 road record.

Freshman Ashley Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) paced the Falcons with 12 kills, 14 assists, eight digs, block solo and a block assist. Freshman Megan Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) ended with six kills, two block solos and a block assist, while three others smashed five kills.

Sophomore Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) led CUW with 17 assists, while senior Hannah Griffiths (Antigo, Wis.) led the defensive efforts with 11 digs. Senior Britta Duchow (Potter, Wis.) recorded a block solo and two block assists.

Peyton McKenzie and Alexis Hammond led the Spartans with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Lexi O'Boyle led all played with 24 assists, while Destiny Stuersel assisted on 13 kills. O'Boyle added 11 digs.

CUW returns to action on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 for the Illinois Wesleyan Barker Classic in Bloomington, Ill. They will take on MacMurray College, North Park University, Illinois Wesleyan University and Illinois College.
