Ambrocio, Lubner named NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, PA – Sean Ambrocio and Marcus Lubner earned 2013-14 National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American recognition, the organization announced.

Ambrocio (junior, San Antonio, Texas) has a 3.22 cumulative grade point average and is working toward a Bachelor's Degree in occupational therapy. He earned All-American status at the NCAA Division III Championship in the 125-pound bracket. He finished the season with a 19-7 overall record, an 8-0 record in dual meets and became a three-time National Qualifier this year.

Lubner (senior, Fredonia, Wis.) has a 3.25 grade point average and is working toward a Bachelor's Degree in physical education. He advanced to his first NCAA Division III Championship this season. He ended the season with a 19-7 overall record and a 8-2 record in dual meets.

To be eligible for the NWCA Scholar All-American award, a student-athlete must carry a grade point average of at least 3.20 (cumulative or last academic year) and meet one of the three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Championship, place in top six at the NCAA qualifier, or win more than 66 percent of matches and wrestle in 50 percent of scheduled dates.
