Barry, Peppers have career day; Women's Lacrosse downs Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Stephanie Barry and Hayley Peppers found their offensive rhythm on Saturday to lead Concordia University Wisconsin to a 16-6 non-conference victory over the University of Dubuque. The duo combined for half of the Falcons goals at Oyen Field.

Barry (sophomore, Gurnee, Ill.) tallied five goals, while Peppers found the back of the net three times. CUW outshot the Spartans by a commanding 41-18 and picked up 23 ground balls, compared to UD's 12.

It didn't take long for the Falcons to take control of the contest, as they led 8-0 after 26 minutes and 30 seconds of action. At the intermission, they led 9-1 and extended their lead to as many as 11 goals on two different occasions in the second half.

Sophomore Hannah Redden (Libertyville, Ill.) and freshman Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) added two goals apiece for CUW (3-3). The goals were the first of Boehlke's career.

Judy Borah and Bridget Schirmers led the Spartans (0-7) with three goals apiece. UD is a first-year program and played its first home game against CUW.

The Falcons conclude a two-game non-conference road trip on Sunday at Loras College. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
