Reiter's strong season opener secures MWLC offensive award

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin sophomore Sammi Reiter was named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) had a huge season-opening game for the Falcons Saturday as she helped lead them an 18-7 conference win over Fontbonne University. The sophomore scored eight goals on 12 shots and totaled five ground balls, eight draw controls, and two caused turnovers in the CUW victory.

She played a big part in helping the team set new game records for CUW in points (22), goals (18), assists (4), shots (38), and draw control wins (21).

Reiter and the Falcons will be back in action Wednesday afternoon when they host the College of Wooster in a non-conference matchup at 4:30 p.m. at Fitting Field.
