Women's Basketball Wrangles Illinois Tech

MEQUON, Wis. – It was all smiles inside the friendly confines of the R. John Buuck Field House on Wednesday night. The Falcons remain unbeaten at home in 2025 and have won three-straight home games with the 66-48 victory over Illinois Tech. The Falcons soar to 8-10 on the year and stay in third place in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference at 7-2.

A layup from junior Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) started the scoring with a layup.

The Scarlet Hawks scored the next four points of the game to take their only lead of the game at 2-4.

The Blue and White bounced back with an 8-0 run and never looked back. Sophomore Gracie McNabb (Grafton, Wis.) scored all eight points in the run sandwiched by a pair of three-point baskets.

Another three-point splash from McNabb ended the first-quarter scoring at 15-10.

A layup from senior Aubrey DeBauch (Gillett, Wis.) started the second quarter with an easy layup.

Leading, 21-14, the Falcons shut down the Scarlet Hawks with a 9-0 run. Ava Booth had four points in the streak.

Freshman Alexa Schwartz (Treynor, Iowa) scored a layup in the final minute to put the Falcons up 32-16 at halftime.

Gracie McNabb drained back-to-back three-point basket to start the third quarter.

Even after McNabb missed her first basket of the night after six makes, the Falcons responded with a layup from sophomore Jayden Ross (Baraboo, Wis.) to keep the pressure on the Scarlet Hawks.

Senior Liliana Guerra cruised to a layup to put the Falcons up 49-27 and CUW held a 49-30 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Senior Abby Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) found a path to the hoop and started the fourth quarter with a layup.

Illinois Tech took a bite out of the CUW lead with a 7-0 early in the fourth quarter, but the skid was snapped when Andrea Butterbrodt scored with a layup off an offensive rebound and had another layup on the next two possessions to bring the lead up to 20 points.

Concordia closed the final two minutes on a 5-0 run with back-to-back baskets from freshman Hannah Moesch (Muskego, Wis.) for her first collegiate points.

Gracie McNabb led the contest with 17 points in the victory and added four assists and two rebounds.

Aubrey DeBauch stuffed the stat sheet with 12 rebounds, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Sophomore Andrea Butterbrodt (Green Bay, Wis.) feasted in the paint with 10 rebounds and eight points.

Jayden Ross recorded five assists in the victory.

The Falcons won the rebounding battle, 28-23, and had 38 points in the paint.

The Falcons return to NACC play on Saturday afternoon at Edgewood. The Eagles have won their last four games and ran over Rockford on Wednesday night to move to 11-7 and 7-2 in the NACC.
