Falcons Roll Past Raiders
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's basketball team earned another road victory in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Wednesday night at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The 58-43 victory elevates the Falcons to 6-9 on the year and to 6-2 in the NACC.
The first quarter was a back-and-forth battle with senior Lindsey Lonigro (Deerfield, Wis.) draining a three-point basket to give the Falcons an early 4-0 lead.
The Raiders rallied back and took the lead at 11-10 with 1:46 left in the quarter and took that lead into the break.
A layup from senior Aubrey DeBauch (Gillett, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead back 15 seconds into the second quarter and the Falcons never gave it back as layups from junior Kaitlyn Carothers (Columbus, Ind.) and Jayden Ross pushed the lead up.
After MSOE pushed the CUW margin to 21-19, the Falcons responded with back-to-back three-point baskets from junior Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) and sophomore Jayden Ross (Baraboo, Wis.) to take a 27-21 lead into the half.
Sophomore Gracie McNabb (Grafton, Wis.) gave the Falcons an 11-point lead on two occasions in the third quarter and senior Abby Hafemann (Hales Corners put the Falcons up 41-28 halfway through the quarter.
Both teams exchanged baskets to end the quarter and the Falcons held a 45-36 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Scoring was hard to come by to start the fourth quarter, but a 9-0 run for the Birds froze any hopes for a comeback. Aubrey DeBauch had the final six points on the run.
DeBauch diced up the Raiders with a game-high 18 points in the win and added six rebounds to lead the flock and two steals.
Jayden Ross finished with 11 points in the victory.
The Falcons feasted in the paint again with a 30-16 margin.
The Blue and White return to non-conference play when they play at Concordia Ann Arbor of NAIA on the road on Friday night.
