Becky Bonnin named NACC Position Player of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – Becky Bonnin of the CUW softball team was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Position Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.

"Becky has a great approach at the plate," said head coach Steve Crook. "She hits to all fields and is really in the zone. She is also a very good outfielder and has changed games with big plays in right field. This past weekend, she threw a runner out at first base at Dominican, helping us complete the sweep."

A senior from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Bonnin helped the Falcons post a 4-0 record last week.

Bonnin and the Falcons sit atop the NACC at 7-1.

Last week, she posted eight hits, five RBI and a stolen base.

Bonnin hit her first career home run at CUW on Monday at Alverno.

In game one at Dominican, she led the Falcons with three hits.

The CUW senior finished the week with an on base percentage of .714 and a slugging percentage of 1.083.

This is the first time that Bonnin has claimed this honor.

She is also the second Falcon to earn the accolade, with sophomore Jenna Pozezinski doing so on March 19.

Bonnin and the Falcons return to action on Thursday at Wisconsin-Whitewater.
