Men's Cross Country Takes Third at Ken Weidt Classic

MEQUON, Wis. – There was a lot to celebrate for the men's cross country team on Saturday at the Ken Weidt Classic. The Falcons finished in third place at home with 89 points. The Pointers of Wisconsin-Stevens Point had five of the top-six runners and claimed the title with 20 points. Chase Upmann of Carthage was the individual champion at 25:43.2.

Senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the birds in 12th place at 26:21.3.

In 26th place was sophomore Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) at 27:18.4.

Freshman Mason Everts (Saukville, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 20:31.4. in 49th place.

A trio of Falcons crossed the finish line from 59th through 61st place in freshman Riley Johnson (Cedar Lake, Ind.) at 33:40.6, senior Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.) at 34:04.7 and senior Josh Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) at 34:16.2. A Carthage runner broke up the flock before freshman Aaron Klug finished in 63rd place at 34:26.8.

The Falcons return to action on Sept. 23 at the Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite.
